Back to Overview

What is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)?

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a business concept through which companies integrate environmental and social matters into their business practices and interactions with stakeholders with the aim of supporting a company’s mission and providing guidelines to their values and principles. Ranging from voluntary activities to a comprehensive sustainability strategy, corporate social responsibility includes the measures introduced by a company to take responsibility for society in general and through which a company reaches a balance between environmental, economic and social concerns.

Overall, the goal of CSR is for companies to take on responsibility for their own actions and to promote a positive impact on the environment, customers, society, employees and stakeholders through their activities.
