Planetly receives funding from Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB), co-financed by EU funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The funds, which come from IBB's ProFIT program, support our mission to make our economy climate neutral.
The program funds the innovation and development of a digital CO2 management platform. With the implementation of this project, Planetly develops a software that helps companies to automatically determine their emissions relevant for the greenhouse effect and identify savings potentials and subsequently avoid or compensate them.
Planetly's customers will be provided with a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform which, once their activity data has been made available, will display not only the emissions information but also a wide range of other detailed information, analyses and optimization potential.
The software uses complex calculation functions and models that determine emission data in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol). The emission data result from the multiplication of emission factors with the activities, calculation functions and models assigned to the company, which are designed and developed within the scope of this project.
The GHG Protocol is the most widely used GHG calculation framework in the world and provides comprehensive global standardized frameworks for measuring and managing GHG emissions from private and public sector operations, value chains, and mitigation activities.
„Moving to a carbon-neutral business world is a huge challenge for companies. CO2 will be a key KPI that needs to be actively managed in order to compete. Planetly develops software that enables companies to analyze, reduce and offset their carbon footprint. The funding obtained from IBB fits perfectly into our growth strategy in this regard.“
