Quebec’s Law 25 (previously known as Bill 64) is a major legislative development in Canadian privacy, bringing significant changes to the privacy landscape in Quebec and modernizing privacy legislation in both the private and public sector. It requires organizations that process personal data of residents of Quebec to adopt significant changes to their operations in order to comply with new and amended obligations. In particular, Law 25 introduces stricter privacy requirements around governance, consent, notice and transparency, and mandatory privacy impact assessments, among other things. This eBook outlines these expanded requirements, the impact they have on IT systems, and how you can work towards compliance using privacy management tools.
